How to evaluate a business idea before you spend money
Separate what you know from what you need to test.
Launch · Business launch planning
Keep the decisions you have made close to the work they create. 3Haystack helps you organize the next actions, choose what matters first, and adjust the plan as you learn.
Start with the business
Enter Launch directly when you can describe the business and choose its type. If you have been developing the idea in Exploration, choose which details and features to carry forward instead of starting over.
Record the offer, target customer, revenue model, market, channels, budget, required skills, and constraints. Update them when your decisions change. The profile gives your task list a reason to exist.
For a repair-booking pilot, the profile might say that the first customer is a single shop, the initial service is deliberately manual, and additional software work depends on what the pilot reveals.
Choose the next actions
Create tasks directly, or use an available suggested checklist matched to the business type. A checklist is a starting point you can adapt—not a claim that every item applies to your situation.
Add a description, priority, category, and due date when those details help. Split a larger piece of work into subtasks. Use status to distinguish work that is not started, deferred, in progress, or complete.
“Prepare the pilot” becomes more useful when it includes concrete steps: agree on the booking hours, write the confirmation message, and test the process with the shop owner. You set the dates; the plan does not invent a schedule for you.
Filter and sort tasks to focus on the work in front of you. Use manual ordering when you want to choose the sequence. Review completed work and adjust what remains instead of treating the first plan as permanent.
Keep what you learned
Previous Stage Data keeps earlier question sessions, mind maps, and saved Exploration analyses available for reference. Your Quick Notes and sketches remain attached to the venture as well.
If a proposed feature starts growing beyond the pilot, return to the earlier customer assumptions before adding more tasks. The useful connection is between a decision and its reason—not simply between one screen and the next.
Still unsure who the offer is for or which problem matters? See what Exploration is designed to help you work through.
Know what the plan can do
Launch is a practical planning workspace, not a service that sets up or launches the business for you. It does not verify demand, complete tasks on your behalf, or certify that you have met every requirement for your industry or location.
The core task and business-profile workflow is available on Free. You can compare the planned tiers for venture limits and the assisted features available elsewhere in the workflow.
Build a plan for the next useful milestone. You can add later work when you know enough to make it specific.
